Peyton Krebs shines at prospects game

Kootenay ICE captain Peyton Krebs shined at the 2019 Sherwin-Williams CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game in Red Deer.

Krebs, who was on Team Cherry, earned the Jim Gregory Player of the Game recognition for his team.

Team Cherry had a 4-1 lead, but Team Orr went for the comeback to win the game 5-4.

Krebs had a goal and an assist in the game while winning nine of 15 face-offs.

The showcase included 40 of the Canadian Hockey League’s top prospects from the Western Hockey League, Ontario Hockey League and the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

Before the game, the players had a chance to showcase their individual skills and strengths at the sports testing combine.

Krebs finished in the top three for pro-agility left and pro-agility right at the testing.

The top prospects game is an annual showcase that features top CHL prospects eligible for the NHL Draft.
