The Wild Battle at the Border tournament brings Canadian Collegiate Basketball to Cranbrook and the East Kootenay.

Entertaining crowds for the weekend will be four college squads -- the Capilano Blues, Ambrose Lions, Red Deer Queens and Kings Eagles -- through three days of play (Sept. 25 to 27) at Mount Baker Secondary School in Cranbrook.

“It is an exciting opportunity to bring a different level of basketball to our area,” said Alan Nutini, organizer of the event. “For young players who love the game, they get an opportunity to see and meet some of the players at the next level.”

The event is raising money for the East Kootenay P.A.R.T.Y. Program.

Battle at the Border schedule:

Friday, Sept. 25, 6 p.m. Ambrose vs. Kings; 8 p.m. Red Deer vs. Capilano

Saturday, Sept. 26, 6 p.m., Kings vs. Red Deer; 8 p.m., Capilano vs. Ambrose

Sunday, Sept. 27, 10 a.m., Kings vs. Capilano; 12 p.m., Ambrose vs. Red Deer
