Triton swimmers return from provincials

The Cranbrook Tritons Swim Team sent 5 swimmers to the BC 'AA' Provincial Championships in Chilliwack, February 28 to March 2

The Cranbrook Tritons Swim Team sent 5 swimmers to the BC ‘AA’ Provincial Championships in Chilliwack from February 28 to March 2, 2014 and had another successful swim meet.

Jayden White won a bronze in the 50 Freestyle with a time of 29.99 seconds and a 4th place in the 100 Freestyle with a time of 1:05.58, both personal best times.  Jayden qualified for BC ‘AAA’ Provincial Championships for her age group with these times.

Sydney Kenke placed 7th in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:27.69 which was a personal best time.

Chloe Mayes placed 8th in 200 Freestyle with a time of 2:25.01 also a personal best time.

Cam Wilson swam in 4 consolation finals with a best placing of 9th in 50 Freestyle with a time of 26.95 seconds and again a personal best swim.

Madeline Hill best placing was 9th in 100 Backstroke with a time of 1:14.64.  Madeline attained a BC ‘AAA’ Provincial qualifying time for her age group with this personal best swim.

Jacob Stratton from Fernie also joined the Tritons over 400 other swimmers at this swim meet.  Jacob placed 5th in 50 Freestyle with a time of 29.04 seconds and 5th in 100 Freestyle with a time of 1:04.44, both personal best times and BC ‘AAA’ Provincial times for his age group.

The girls also swam in the 14 and under 200 Freestyle Relay and placed 10th and also swam the 200 Medley Relay and placed 7th.
