For the Townsman

Mount Baker athletics played well this weekend. The senior girls volleyball team were in Okotoks, AB, and came in 2nd overall, losing to the top-ranked team in Alberta.

The junior volleyball teams were at home at Laurie and Parkland middle school. The boys won every game but lost to Creston in the finals coming in second overall. The girls fought hard but came up short in their games.

Mount Baker also hosted the regional swim meet on Sunday, and with over 70 participants, MBSS took home first place overall with many swimmers placing first.

Parkland Middle School was very successful this weekend – both Grade 8 Bantam Volleyball teams (girls and boys) went to Jaffray, and swept the tournament – both teams winning first place.

This coming weekend the senior boys are in Kimberley, and the Junior teams compete at the East Kootenays in Elford (girls) and Sparwood (boys).
