Cranbrook is becoming a little more striped and a little more masked.

Having evidently found the housing markets of Toronto and Vancouver a little to pricey, Raccoon Nation is emigrating to small communities of Cranbrook, where they will earn their livings fighting over garbage with the skunks.

Mary Walters of Cranbrook found an entire family of the stripey, masked ones taking their ease in her yard near the Cranbrook Golf Course.

Procyon lotor— the Common North American Raccoon — was thought to be pretty uncommon here in Cranbrook. Oh well, welcome to town, folks.
