ELVES COME OFF THE SHELVES: Tanner Wasylowich (centre of the pack) takes the lead role in Parkland Middle School’s production of “Elk Jr. The Musical

"Elf the Musical Jr." takes to the stage at The Key City Theatre tonight.

Elf is a musical based on the motion picture of the same name, with a score by Tony winners Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin. The book is adapted by Bob Martin and Thomas Meehan from the 2003 film. This show is guaranteed to put a laugh in your belly and a joy in your heart as we journey into this Christmas season.

Tickets are $20 for adults and $17 for Students and Seniors. Ouch! "A little high for a 'Middle School Musical' isn't it?" one person commented.

But Frank Hackett, Director of the show responds, "I understand! The Christmas season is a time where there are a lot of things competing for our dollars! But don't, for a minute, believe you are going to be attending just a 'Middle School Musical!' These young performers have partnered with some professionals in our community, creating something truly special as an early Christmas gift to our Community."

So in honour of that, the production team has decided to open the Saturday, December 10, 7 pm show as a "Pay What You Can" event.

"It would be a shame if people didn't see this touching, joy-filled spectacle, because of financial limitations ... what the team has put together is just too special!" Hackett blustered.

Elf is the story of an orphan finding his roots, his family and his place in the world, things the Director feels everyone should have.

Regular ticketing is available the Key City Theatre box office or online at www.keycitytheatre.com, with Saturday's special pricing, only available at the box office.
