Sarann Press was recognized as the 2014 Electoral Area B Volunteer of the Year in Grasmere Sunday night.

“We were thrilled to be able to present the Area B Volunteer of the Year Award to Sarann at the 4H Club’s Achievement Night as she has dedicated over 12 years to developing young leaders in our community through 4H,” says RDEK Electoral Area B Director Heath Slee. “Sarann is an outstanding leader who is committed to making a difference in the community and it is wonderful to be able to recognize her with this Award.”

Currently, Press is the regional and district 4H president and is the Beef Leader. She balances her numerous volunteer commitments while balancing a full time job, and a young family.

“Sarann gives endlessly for the good of our youth and her influence extends well beyond the South Country, touching lives all the way up the Elk Valley and beyond. It is an honour to recognize Sarann, and to thank her for all she gives to Area B and our region,” adds Slee.

The RDEK made the presentation to Press at the annual South Country Crafts and Critters 4H Club Achievement Night, which was held Sunday night at the Pioneer Hall in Grasmere.
