A Canadian online travel guide has placed Cranbrook in the top three most popular B.C. communities.
EhCanadaTravel.com polls two million visitors to its travel, tourism and adventure website to come up with the 2014 Travellers' Choice Awards.
This year, Cranbrook placed third in popular B.C. communities, after Victoria in first place, and Courtenay in second place.
The award is based on the number of online travellers who visited that community in 2013 on the ehCanadaTravel.com website.
"Cranbrook is a recreation destination and the main commercial and business hub servicing the smaller communities located throughout the East Kootenay region of British Columbia, Canada," reads the award announcement. "The community of Cranbrook is surrounded by lakes, wetlands and mountain ranges. To the west are the Purcell Mountains and (to) the east are the mighty Rocky Mountains. And staring down over Cranbrook (is) the peak of Mount Fisher."
EhCanadaTravel.com is a booking and planning website for travel throughout western, central and northern Canada. The website helps travellers book accommodations, campgrounds, attractions, tours, guides, outfitters, and research activities, adventures, transportation, historic sites, parks, trails, waterways, and entertainment.
