‘Tis the season for local treats and treasures, grown and crafted with love
The Cranbrook Farmers’ Winter Market is set to kick-off Friday, Nov. 25, from 5 to 9 p.m. in coordination with JCI Kootenay’s 46th annual Cranbrook Santa Claus Parade.
While families gather on Baker Street under twinkling lights to eagerly await the arrival of Old St. Nick, more than 70 local area food producers and artisans will come together for a festive market celebration, offering parade-goers and shoppers the season’s best produce, quality meats, home-cooked treats, pickles and jams, as well as hand-knit wears, Christmas crafts and decor, beauty products, jewelry, household items, and so much more.
“Many of our vendors are bringing a little of their own Christmas sparkle to the market, while others are returning with the tried and true products you know and love,” says Livia Lara, Cranbrook Farmers’ Market manager. “Whether your looking to stock up on this fall’s crisp, juicy apples and freshly-picked root veggies or cross a few names off your Christmas list, the Cranbrook Farmers’ Winter Market will have something for everyone to savour and enjoy.”
To extend your shopping opportunity, the Cranbrook Farmers’ Winter Market continues both Saturday, Nov. 26 and Sunday, Nov. 27 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“All throughout the weekend the winter market will deliver not only a mouth-watering experience for the taste-buds, but a tantalizing treat for the eyes, ears, and soul too,” adds Lara. “It’s a wonderful opportunity for shoppers to re-connect with their favourite vendors, meet some new ones, and purchase locally-made, baked, and grown products just in time for the holidays.”
The Cranbrook Farmers’ Winter Market takes place at 1114 Baker Street, downtown Cranbrook.
