The Columbia Basin Alliance for Literacy (CBAL) hosted its annual Family Literacy Day celebration Wednesday, Jan. 27, at the Manual Training Centre in Cranbrook. The event featured games, activities, community gathering, the recognition of this year’s Literacy Champion, and presentations to the participants in the school writing project (the theme this year was “Let’s Play”). Along with CBAL, partners and sponsors include the Cranbrook Daily Townsman, the Cranbrook Public Library and School District 5. Barry Coulter photos
