After launching their respective books in Vancouver, Calgary and Toronto, poet Jane Byers (left) and fiction writer Leesa Dean, both based in Nelson, set out on a book tour of the East Kootenay, stopping at the Cranbrook Public Library on Tuesday, Dec. 13. Byers read from her latest poetry collection, "Acquired Community," and Dean, who grew up in Cranbrook, read from her short story collection "Waiting for the Cyclone." Both released earlier this fall to rave reviews in publications such as the Globe and Mail and Quill & Quire. Barry Coulter photo
