Sunday morning, September 10, head to the Platzl in Kimberley (where you will be able to have a snack or a meal) and watch the 4th annual Gran Fondo riders as they bike through the Platzl.
Riders choose from three different course lengths – 58 km (Piccolo), 102 km (Medio) or 152 km (Gran). Over 400 hundred riders will start and finish at the St. Eugene Golf Resort & Casino and all of them will bike through Kimberley’s Platzl where they can access the Aid Station that will be set up by the Kimberley Rotary Club.
The best place to view the Fondo is in Kimberley’s Platzl
The first riders (the Gran) will likely arrive around 9:45 am and the recreational riders (the Piccolo and Medio) will continue arriving until about 11:45 to noon.
It is a great opportunity to highlight our Platzl and downtown businesses and to bring awareness to what Kimberley has to offer visitors, potential residents and businesses. Get out the Cow Bells or other Noise Makers and “Make Some Noise”! Cheer on the riders and support our local businesses.
This event helps to supply funds for Cranbrook and Kimberley Rotary Projects. It is also a fund-raiser for the Lions Club and the “North Star Rails to Trails Society”.
