A bookish brew

Writers mark Authors for Indies Day, En Cervisia Novellus.

Saturday, April 30, was a bookish day, with a celebration of writers and independent bookstores in Cranbrook.

Noted authors Jerry Auld (Canmore) and Angie Abdou (Fernie) were in attendence at Lotus Books for “Authors for Indies,” a day where writers help celebrate the country’s independent bookstores. Auld and Abdou spent the afternoon discussing their favourite books of the moment with members of the public.

Later that evening, off to the HeidOut, for “En Cervisia Novellus” (“In Beer There Are Books”), where a reading and beer-tasting session were held featuring local writers, each paired with their own HeidOut brew.
