In loving memory ~
The family of Violet Bruner wishes to announce her passing on August 21st 2022 at the Cranbrook Regional Hospital at the age of 85 years.
Violet met the love of her life Tyrrell (Terry) Bruner in grade 8 in their hometown of Edmonton Alberta, they had been a couple ever since spanning 70 years and 63 of those years married. Violet was a working mother who cherished her jobs, in the course of her working career she would take many positions from a sales clerk to a hotel manager as well as an apartment complex manager. Upon retirement at lac St. Anne Alberta her and Terry would travel to Palm Springs California to spend the winter months with family and friends.
Everyone knew Vi had a passion for the lights, bells and sounds of the Casino and second to that was BINGO! The life commitment to working and family would take her and Terry to multiple destinations in their careers, Cranbrook was one of those where they purchased and operated Trico sales and Service the Texaco station located on the corner of 7th Ave.
Upon winding the business in the late 70's they pushed on to Airdrie AB where they managed the Airdrie Hotel. They moved on again and managed Creston place in Edmonton until their retirement. Violet returned to Cranbrook in 2020 to be with family until her passing. Edmonton would always be home, she had multiple friends in many communities.
Violet suffered from dementia for many years. She will be greatly missed by her husband Tyrrell (Terry) Bruner, her daughters Terry Faiers (Bob ), Catherine Bruner ( Jeff ), grand daughter Tamara Butler ( Dan), great grand daughters Eva and Lillian, her special sister in-law Marlene Geldart also her surviving siblings sister Alma and brother Harvey and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Honoring Violets wishes there will be a service at a later date in Edmonton.
