January 13, 2020
On January 13th our mom, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend got her angel wings, passing peacefully in Cranbrook, B.C. forever in our hearts and memories.
Mom "Violet" was born on what is now known as the historic Bombini Ranch along with her two brothers and two sisters. Mom was the last surviving member of the original Bombini family of (Anaconda) Greenwood, B.C.
Violet met her future husband Bill in Greenwood while he was working for the Provincial Government and they were married in 1947. In 1949 Bill and Violet moved to Barkerville, B.C., and in 1952 to Rossland, B.C., where all 3 of her children were born. In 1973 they moved their family to Cranbrook BC.
Mom enjoyed spending time with friends and family whether it was sharing a cup of tea, making a delicious meal (just like her Mom did), bowling, curling, golfing or travelling in the RV with Dad. Most importantly Mom loved making sure Dad, her children, her grandchildren and her great grandchildren knew how important they were to her. We could not have asked for a kindlier loving matriarch to the Draper family.
We would like to thank Dr. Sarah Chesney, staff from the Moyie neighborhood of Joseph Creek Care Village, staff from Ivy House in Invermere, and Kyunghee Nam (Kelly) for the kindness and care they provided our mother.
Violet is survived by son Dean (Jean), daughter Diane (Bob), daughter Penny (Andrew), nine grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Wiliam Lewis Draper, her parents Samuel and Vendala Bombini, siblings Sam, Sonny, Rosie, and Vera. Bill's family Charles and Lily Draper, Art and Beth Draper.
Arrangements entrusted to McPherson Funeral Services.
