April 29, 1949 - August 22, 2019
A spirit that was gentle, generous and kind.
Vickie's love for her family, friends and yes, her cats was fierce and undisputable. Although her heart was filled with love for her family, it was also breaking after losing her daughter, Rachelle;
her only sibling, Ray; and the love of her life Peter (married 50 years) in a span of less than 18 months. As the sun set on August 22nd, Vickie took her last breath and passed over the threshold from Earth to Heaven joined her family and the lord she loved and prayed to every day.
Victoria Ann Dueck died of a broken heart.
A small but mighty tribe remain and are grieving the loss of Vickie. None more than her daughter Jolene (Des), and son Joshua (Lacey). Her grandchildren gave her great joy and brought delight to her life, and they will miss her dearly - Ashley, Riley, Alyssa, Jeremy, Cori-Lynn, Nova, Hudson and those beautiful great grandkids - Dante, Gabriel, Alexander, Scarlet. There is a huge void in the lives of Vickie's sister-in-love Doris, her children Travis & Jesse and their families. Lifetime friends and cousins Joan and Ron together with Jillian and Eric are grieving the loss of her light in their life. Her foster daughter Michelle will forever be grateful for the open heart and home, the long conversations and the unconditional love that will forever be, with Vickie & Peter.
There is a long list extended family members and friends that will miss Vickie's kind heart and wicked sense of humor.
The family would like to thank the exceptional staff at The Vernon Jubilee Hospital, Dr. Smart, the EMS response team, the wonderful staff and residents at Heron Grove. Our hearts have been filled with the love and kind sentiments from her many friends at The Kimberley Baptist Church and Pleasant Valley Church in Vernon.
If Mom and Dad were known for anything it was their generous spirit. Moms last words to me were simply this "the more you give the more you get". Give it a go, and give more than you can; wait and watch your heart overflow.
At Vickie's request a small family gathering and Celebration of life will be held this coming spring, as this was her favourite time of year.
In lieu of flowers, cards and cat nip; Vickie would love to see Joyful Living, Joyful Giving Foundation prosper with, and from your generous support.
