In loving memory ~
Tibor passed away at home peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, March 24, 2022. His good friend, Joan Stephens, was at his side. He was 89 years old.
Tibor was born in Budapest, Hungary, and came to Canada following the Hungarian Revolution of 1956 and settled in Cranbrook, BC. He was married to his wife of 44 years, Anna (Szekely), who predeceased him in August 2006.
Tibor was a skilled and well-sought-after painter. He was self-employed and worked well into his 70s.
Tibor enjoyed curling and golfing. He golfed into his mid-80s.
Animals always held a special place in Tibor's heart. He enjoyed many pets over the years and loved to feed the local wildlife that ventured onto his acreage in Gold Creek.
Tibor will be remembered as very likeable with a great sense of humour. Unfortunately, Covid kept him from socializing in his last years.
Having outlived his wife, parents, and four older brothers, he left behind no surviving family members.
At Tibor's request, there will be no funeral service.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mark Memorial Community Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, please consider honouring Tibor's memory with donations to the Cranbrook SPCA.
