July 4, 1950 - August 19, 2020
Sharon Faye Duthie, 70, of Cranbrook, BC, passed away in Calgary, Alberta on August 19, 2020. Sharon loved helping people, but her true passion was working with children. In the 1980's, while raising her own 4 children, she became a foster parent, and later pursued a bachelor's degree specializing in Early Childhood Education. She continued to work in the community and with School District #5 (Cranbrook) & #6 (Kimberly) until 2019.
As a large part of the community, Sharon was eccentric and made everyone smile. She loved connecting with people and her door was always open. She loved children, animals, Tim Hortons, and shopping at WasaMart.
Sharon is survived by her 4 children (Jennifer, Dacan, Saulene, & Casey), 2 grandchildren (Gage & Anneliese), 4 sisters (Joan-Lan, Jean, Janet, & Rose), 2 brothers (Dave & Robert), brother-in-law (Choi), and many nieces and nephews.
Sharon's celebration of life will be held on July 4, 2021 with additional details to be released at a later date. In memory of Sharon, memorial donations to KidSport Canada (kidsportcanada.ca) or The Salvation Army Cranbrook would be gratefully accepted.
