Roger Henry Savarie, age 102 of Cranbrook, passed away Sunday December 22, 2019 at the F.W. Green Home. He was born in Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan, then moved to Fort Steele as a young boy where he grew up and went to school.
Later he joined the Canadian Armed Forces in World War 2, serving in Halifax.
In 1949 he married Yvette Houde and they raised three children.
He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Cranbrook Curling Club, he also enjoyed golf.
Roger was predeceased by his wife Yvette in 2006, brothers Fernand, Lawrence, and Louie, sister Pauline LaPrise, daughter Louise Williams, and great-grandaughter Iyanna Teeple.
He is survived by his son Raymond, daughter Denise Van Amerongen (Ron Hayward), 5 grandchildren Cindy Lisk, Nelson Savarie, Renee Teeple, Trevor Van Amerongen, and Michael Savarie.
No service will be held.
