It is with heavy hearts the family of Rodney Newham announce his passing on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Joseph Creek Care Village in Cranbrook, BC at 79 years of age.

Rod was born in Wynyard, SK on September 17, 1938. He lived in Kandahar, SK with his parents Ernie and Vala and his brother James, all since whom have passed away. At the age of 14 Rod and his family moved to a farm in the Elfros, SK area. He attended high school in Foam Lake, SK.

Rod started working for CP Rail at the age of 18 as a Station Agent in southern Saskatchewan, for five years. While working in the Rosetown area, Rod met Roselle Snegur. The couple were married in Glamis, SK on July 8, 1961. The following year they moved to Lethbridge, AB where their two children Cheryl and Stuart were born. They moved to Sparwood, BC in 1974 where Rod was employed by Fred Sowchuk Trucking. In 1988, he started working for Teck Resources at Greenhills Coal Mine.

After retiring from Teck in 2004, Rod and Roselle moved to Cranbrook to enjoy being close to their family: daughter Cheryl and her children Jesse Wilson and Danica Newham; son Stuart (Shelly) and his daughters Shyanne and Rebecca Newham.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
