Roberta Anne Garrett (Nee Gilker)

In loving memory ~
Roberta was born in Nelson, B.C. on Oct. 10,1936, to Bob and Anne Gilker. She was the eldest of four children. She is predeceased by her husband of 57 years Bud Garrett, eldest son Gordon Garrett, and her parents Bob and Anne Gilker. She is survived by her children Debra (Bob) Reimer, Mark Garrett (Grace), Diane Garrett (Jim Coghlan), and Pamela (Glen) Walker. Her 10 grandchildren Melissa, Lindsey, Andrea, Brad, Peter, Lucas, Cassidy, Kailen, Calvin, and Cari and all their spouses. Along with 10 great grandchildren, and 9 step grand children. Her sisters Janice (Wilf) Hewat, Colleen (Don) Graham, and brother Gary Gilker and many nieces and nephews.
Mom resided most of her life in Kaslo. She worked for BC Tel in her younger years, and in later years opened and managed the Sears outlet. She was a former Rebecca, Kinette, and member of various organizations, and St. Andrews United Church. She wasn't only a wonderful Mother to her children, but also a Mother figure to many others. She will be missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Heart and Stroke Society, The Diabetic Association, or the charity of your choice.
Memorial Service to be held at St. Andrews United Church on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at 2pm. A tea to follow in the Heritage Hall at the back of the church.
