John Farrell
August 15, 1950 -
November 24, 2015
Bob (Luke) passed away on November 24, 2015 at Joseph Creek Care Village. He was born in Winnipeg, MB, on August 15, 1950. He was predeceased by his parents, Lila and Gordon Farrell, and is survived by his sister Nancy (Rob Rummery) and his nephew, Dan Rummery (Carley and daughters Zoe and Kaya).
Bob graduated from the University of Manitoba with a degree in physiotherapy. He loved photography and travel, and over the years spent time in England and Australia. In the early 1980’s Bob moved to Kimberley and became head of the Kimberley Hospital’s physiotherapy department. Illness forced him to leave his job in the late 1990’s.
Bob (Luke) Farrell was instrument in bringing the Mankind Project to the East Kootenay and was an inspiration to the many men serving this community. There is a large group of people who supported, helped, visited and cared for Luke so he could stay in his home for as long as possible.
The family would like to thank all of you and to thank the staff at Joseph Creek and especially Joanne St. Pierre. The Mankind Project community also offers its thanks to those many people who supported Luke through the years of his illness.
On Saturday, December 5, there will be a gathering of friends and family to celebrate Luke’s life. Please join us at 1:00 pm at McPherson’s Funeral Home at Victoria Avenue and 2nd Street South, Cranbrook.
In lieu of any floral tribute, please make a donation to Parkinson Society Canada.
