Rita Maria Renate Bohme, 63, of Cranbrook, BC, Canada, sadly passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2018.
She took her last breath at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital after her painful battle with cancer. We couldn't help but be humbled by her silent strengths as cancer selfishly robbed and weakened every ounce of her soul. On a crisp winter morning, lit by a glorious full moon, December 22nd 2018 the longest, lightest, brightest night, Rita's six month battle was over. At the break of dawn, God reached down and gently carried away our beautiful Rita to heaven.
Rita was born on January 27, 1955 in Vancouver, BC, eldest daughter of Fred and Emma Bohme. She spent her childhood and teenage years in Chilliwack, BC and moved to Cranbrook, BC in 1986. Rita worked in many places in Chilliwack and Cranbrook. Her favourite last employer was working beside her dad at the Black Forest Haus of Gifts in Kimberley, BC.
Rita is survived by her loving husband and best friend, Dale Thompson. On a broken road, 21 years ago, God led Rita to Dale's open arms and together they shared a loving life.
Rita is survived by her mother, Emma Bohme and predeceased by her father, Gottfried Ernst Bohme 'Fred' in 2013. With diligence, Rita generously watched over her mom in honour of her father's wishes after his passing.
Rita will be sadly missed by step daughters Brenda Anderson (Mike) and Amber Yawney (Mike) and her granddaughter Jayden (her beautiful sunshine girl) and grandson Hudson; her younger sisters Erica Eversfield (John), Linda Sivorot (Danny) and Sylvia Levoe (Perry); her two nephews Tyson and Jordan, who she helped bring into the world and her two adored nieces, Jessica and Katie; and her aunties, uncles and many cousins.
Rita treasured her fur babies throughout her years. They were very much an important part of her life. Waiting for her on rainbows bridge will be her two dogs Brandy and Toby, but the one missing her today is her dog Brodie and Cally cat.
As Rita wished, cremation has already taken place. A private memorial gathering will be held at a later date.
Silent night, Holy night... Sleep in Heavenly Peace Rita. You are forever loved!
