May 19, 1927 - July 16, 2018
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Phyllis Jean Johnson on July 16th, 2018. Jean was born in Barry, Wales and immigrated to Richmond B.C. in 1958 with her husband Tom and family. They moved to Cranbrook B.C. in 1999 where Jean moved to Willowbrook Estates and Tom resided at the Green Home. Tom passed away in 2003 after 55 years of marriage.

Jean has always been a hard worker and had a passion for helping others. Jean was a member of the Order of the Royal Purple for many years, serving a term as president in the Vancouver branch. When she moved to Cranbrook she worked tirelessly crocheting and knitting blankets etc. for several charities. She also took on the role of President on the Strata Council of Willowbrook and enjoyed the camaraderie and fellowship that she felt there. She could often be seen walking her dog Libby.

Jean is survived by her daughter Ann (Jim) Wavrecan of Cranbrook and Pat (Ron Schuck) of North Delta. Jean loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and was so proud of each one of them and looked forward to their visits. They all remember that Smarties were always the parting gift when they left. Her grandchildren Darrin, Kym, Bryan, Melanie and Sarah along with her great grandchildren Amber, Madison, Emily, Grace and Caelan will miss her so much.

The family would like to thank Dr. Kevin McIver for the care that he gave to not only mom but her family during this difficult time. We would also like to thank the home support workers and the nurses of the East Kootenay Regional Hospital for the care they gave. A special thanks to Jeans' friends.

There will be a private family internment in Vancouver where Jean will join Tom once more.
