In Loving Memory ~
Peter (Panagiotis) Paleologopoulos, age 65 of Cranbrook passed away at his home after a short battle with Cancer on Monday March 13, 2023.

He was predeceased by his parents Leonidas and Chrisoula Paleologopoulos, one sister Diamanto, and three brothers, Nick, Bobby, and Kostas.
Peter was well known for his contagious smile, big heart and warm personality in the Cranbrook community. He was a big supporter of the local major and minor hockey teams, Sam Steele Days, and many other community projects.
Born in Aviythos, Aigio Greece, Peter came to Canada on his own as a young man, joining his brother Nick in Toronto. Moving to Jasper, he met his lifelong friend Angelo Gaitanos, also newly arrived from Greece, and together they came to Cranbrook in 1995. He raised his two sons, Christos, and Curtis here.
Peter and Angelo operated the Bing Restaurant until 1997 when Peter's brother Nick came to Cranbrook and took over the Bing. Peter and Angelo then purchased the popular Apollo Ristorante and Steakhouse from George Georgopoulos. They ran it together for a couple years and then Angelo left, and Peter took on Pantelis Boutsarakis as a partner. Together he and Pantelis owned and operated the Apollo for the next 15 years.
In 2014 Peter became the sole owner/operator of the Apollo, and he also married his beloved wife, Rasel. In 2020, Peter sold the Apollo and retired, and he and Rasel began traveling more extensively to his homeland in Greece and to the Philippines. His Greek Orthodox faith was of great importance to him, and he will be greatly missed by the Local Orthodox community of St. Aidan here in Cranbrook.
