May 13, 1937 - May 4, 2020
It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of our mother quietly and suddenly on May 4, 2020 at the age of 82 in Cranbrook, B.C.
Myrna was born the 13th of May 1937 in Toronto, Ontario and was the only child of Kathleen Connell. For many years they resided in Winnipeg, Manitoba where she began working in various careers. She eventually moved to Fort St. John, B.C., where she met Ed Taras. They married and raised their family in Fort St. John and then retired in Cranbrook B.C. in 1996.
Myrna had a lot of passion and was very well supported in return from her many friends in Cranbrook. She always made sure there was extra food on the table for a lonely pensioner, wayward teenager or single mom and her children. She will be lovingly remembered for her big heart.
She was also involved for 50 years with the associations of Oil Wives Clubs. In addition, with her husband they were loyal members of the Royal Canadian Legion.
Predeceased by her husband Edmund in May 2018, and grandchild Emma Lynn Nov 2004.
Myrna is survived by her three children Arlene, Robert and Heather, her 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was looking forward to her first great great grandchild due to be born in July.
A celebration of her life will take place on Saturday, May 30th at 11:00 am with a fellowship luncheon to follow.
Location will be 2324 2nd St S, Cranbrook, B.C., (The Dwelling Place Church)
