March 20, 2021
Michael Douglas Vaughan valiantly fought as hard as he could for his life and loves, and on Saturday, March 20th his loving Lord and Saviour called him home.
We have lost an exceptional man and we are heartbroken, but what a special soul heaven has gained! His memory will live on in the heart of his wife Shauna (nee Parker), his incredible daughters Sarah and Taylor, mother Judy, sister Erin, and brothers Patrick (Angela, Natalia and Tyson) and Jeremy.
He was predeceased by his father, David. He will also be missed by a large family, extended family, friends from around the world, and a community in which he served as teacher, coach, mentor and leader. Michael's continued service to others throughout his life will affect many lives for years to come.
Michael was born in Cranbrook, BC where his love of sport, community and the Dodgers began. He went to Caronport, SK for high school and one year of college, where his life of service as a leader, both in and out of school, grew.
He continued his education at the University of Alberta where he met Shauna, and they moved to the Three Hills area after their marriage. There they raised their two amazing children, and together they worked to create positive experiences and life long memories for the people they were given the opportunity to meet. The time spent in service to others was never a chore for Michael because he truly loved doing what he did.
A private funeral was held on Thursday, March 25th, 2021 at 11 am and at the time a live stream will be available at www.mountoliveefc.com/vaughan
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Three Hills and District Palliative Care Society or the Alberta Cancer Foundation in Michael's name would be appreciated.
Memories anyone would like to share can be posted using #vaughanmemories2021
However, when it is safe for us to gather again, there will be a celebration of life to honor Michael, a wonderful man who graciously spent time with us on this earthly journey.
