With deep sorrow we regret to announce the passing of our Mother – Grandmother – Greatgrand Mother on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at the age of 94 years. She was living in Joseph Creek Care Village.
Surviving family members are her sons Alvin (Gloria) of Nelson, BC, Lloyd (Gladys) and Raymond of Cranbrook and daughter Debbie (Wayne) Wicheruk of Cranbrook. Grandchildren Michael (Lua) Gerun, Mark (Tammy) Wicheruk, Trevor Wicheruk and Raelyn Gerun. Great
grandchildren are Hailee Gerun, Isabel and Audrey Wicheruk.
Mary was predeceased by her husband Mike Gerun in 2001, her son Keith Gerun in 1977 and great grandson Gracin in 2007.
Mary was a kind, caring and generous person who spent many hours preparing meals and caring for the family. She
worked as a care worker for Cranbrook Home Support for 30 years after raising her family. She loved to pick mushrooms,
huckleberries and wild berries. In early years she and Mike spent many days digging for bottles and collecting antiques of various sorts. She spent many hours in her vegetable garden
and dearly loved her flowers.
She will be sadly missed by her entire family who attended the family Celebration of Life held on Saturday, March 4th in honour of her passing.
We thank the staff at Joseph Creek for the care they took in looking after mom while she was there for her year and
a half stay. A special thank you for the care and kindness they had for her in her last days. No flowers by request of
