It is with heavy hearts that the family of Marvin Uphill announces his passing on November 3, 2023, at the age of 89 years.
Marvin was born August 30, 1934, in Fernie, BC to Delphine and Howard Uphill. He resided in Fernie for 31 years and this is where he met the love of his life, Annette of 59 years. They married and later moved to Cranbrook where they raised their four children.
Marvin's love for the outdoors was instilled in his children and later his grandchildren, whom he spent countless hours with. Much of Marvin's spare time was spent at the cabin at Newgate, which he referred to as 'a little piece of heaven.'
Marvin will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife, Annette, his children; Mark, Dean(Pam), Dale, & Marnette(Jamie), his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sister; Verna and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marvin was predeceased by his parents, Delphine and Howard, brothers; Billy, Jack & Grenny, sisters; Tisha and Marlene and granddaughter, Jacey.
As per Marvin's wishes, there will be no service. A celebration of his life will take place at a later date.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff and Doctors of third floor at EKRH for their care and compassion.
