On the morning of Sunday, June 22, 2014, our amazing and beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Marion Elizabeth Stone passed away at the Kimberley Special Care Home in Kimberley at the age of 88 years – just two weeks after her beloved husband, Stan. Marion was born in Vancouver, BC on November 13, 1925 to Harry and Winnifred Johnson. She was the youngest of three daughters.
Words are unable to express our great sorrow and loss. Our mother was truly a 1950’s mom – she stayed at home and raised her children with much love and care. We will always remember her presence in our home as we grew up. Mom will be missed by many.
Marion leaves to cherish her memory her three children; Ted (Heather), Larry (Lorraine) and Darlene (Clayton) as well as her grandchildren; Paula, Alison (Rob), Kimberley (Kevin), Shaun, Brenden, Shyanne (Tyler) and Becca (Kelvin) She also leaves behind three great grandchildren; Braxton, Kaden and Kassidy. Marion was predeceased by her two sisters; Irene Cowan and Lois Plummer.
A Celebration of Marion`s Life will be held at Mark Memorial Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at 2:00 pm. If friends desire, memorial donations may be made in Marion’s memory to the Kimberley Special Care Home, 386 – 2nd Ave., Kimberley, BC V1C 2Z8. The family of Stan and Marion Stone would like to thank the hospital staff at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital for the care and compassion given to our parents during your time of caring for them.
