It is with deep sorrow that the family of Maria Caterina Agui announces her passing on Saturday, July 4, 2015 at East Kootenay Regional Hospital in Cranbrook at 85 years of age.
Maria was born on February 18, 1929 in Bovalino, Reggio Calabria, Italy. When she was 20 years of age, Maria was married to Saverio Agui. They moved to Cranbrook in 1955.
Maria was predeceased by her loving husband Saverio (2004) and her beloved son Rosario “Ross” (1981). She will be sadly missed by her sister Maria (Bruno) Zappavina of Italy, her two grandchildren Ryley Pungor and Aaron Egresits, and by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral mass for Maria will take place on Monday, July 13, 2015 at Christ The Servant Catholic Church in Cranbrook at 10:00 am. Entombment will follow in the Westlawn Cemetery Mausoleum.
