Lorne "Hacker" Kinakin
October 30th, 1952 - September 17th, 2020
Lorne (Lawrence) Kinakin passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 17th, 2020 at the Kelowna General Hospital following a short illness. He was predeceased by his parents, Pete and Florence Kinakin, and his brother, Wayne. He is survived by his sister, Evelyn, and nephew and nieces, Scott, Lori, Courtney, and Jocelyn.
Lorne was born on October 30th, 1952 in Trail, BC, and raised in Castlegar, BC. In the mid-1970s, he relocated to Cranbrook, BC, where he lived for most of the rest of his life. Over the years, Lorne had many jobs and was well regarded for his vast knowledge in his field, the go-to guy within the industry. He was a great co-worker, friend and to some a mentor.
Hacker was passionate about sports and excelled at every sport he participated in, such as hockey, broom ball soccer, and many more. With the company of friends, he enjoyed football pools, hockey drafts, winning more than most, and sharing a laugh. If you ever got the chance to talk hockey with him, he knew every player, who they played for and most of the time where they played as a junior before they were drafted.
All those who knew and loved him will miss his spirit, quick wit, and wonderful sense of humour.
