It is with great sadness that the family announce Lodovico DeCecco passed away at the F.W. Green Memorial Home in Cranbrook during the early morning hours of Sunday, January, 29, 2017, at the age of 89.

Vico was born in Braulins, Italy on October 28, 1927. He arrived in Coleman, Alberta in 1951 and moved to Cranbrook in 1953. Well-known for his hard work, Vico was employed by Crestbrook Forest Industries for 38 years. He was an

active member and former President of the Colombo Lodge. An avid fisherman, Vico’s passion for sports also extended to watching hockey, baseball, and of

course soccer, which he both played and refereed for as a member of the Cranbrook Rovers during the 1950’s. Vico is survived by his daughters Lucy Aebi-

DeCecco (son-in-law Roland Aebi), Nina DeCecco, granddaughters Jennifer Aebi (Christope) and Carole Aebi (Herve) as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins in Canada and Italy. Vico was predeceased by his wife Norina in 2004.

In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association, Kootenays

We would like to thank Dr. Van Rensburg; as well as the wonderful staff at F.W. Green Memorial Home.

Special thanks to Bernice and Shari for their support and kindness and for making Vico feel like part of their

family. As well, special thanks to Hector. We would also like to extend thanks to Silvana and Jon, Roger, Shelley

at Home Support and all the caregivers who helped Vico. As well, our gratitude goes out to Janet, Jeannie, Harvey and all of Vico’s other friends and neighbours.
