April 2, 1929 - August 30, 2020
It is with great sadness that the family of Leda Creegan announce the passing of our loving Mother on August 30, 2020, at the KBRH, surrounded by her family.
She was born on April 2, 1929 in Bologniana, Tuscany, Italy to Sylvio and Laura Poli.
She was predeceased by her parents, sister Diana Decembrini, and brother Mose Poli.
Mom was a dedicated, loving Mother and her legacy of faith and love will live on through her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She singularly raised five children with much love, faith, and support. Her arms were always open to anyone in need. She always said that her family was a precious gift, but we all knew that Mom was our gift from God.
We will miss her very much, she was a huge loving presence in our lives. She was also a caring, nurturing nurse, her patients were comforted hearing her sing in the hospital hallways and by the care she gave them.
Many former patients relayed this to us many times. She donated to numerous charities, both in time and money. She volunteered her time and support freely. We were always so proud of her. Mom never complained when her pain was intense, she always said I'm fine, how are you.
Left behind to mourn her are her children; Danny and Kathy Creegan, Lorraine and Bob Collis, Colleen and Art Powell, Anthony and Marg Creegan, and Laura Creegan, grandchildren; Teresa (Martin) Zmavc, Michael (Kendra) Collis, Trevor (Andrea) Creegan, Travis (Karli) Creegan, Leigh (Jen) Creegan and great-grandchildren; Malina and Theo Zmavc, Scarlett and Harper Collis, and Harry Creegan.
The family would like to thank, Dr. Janet Fisher, Dr. Alex Baxter, Dr. Kirby, Dr. Cihal and all the third floor nursing staff. Their caring and support means a great deal to us.
As an expression of sympathy, donations in Leda's name may be made to the CNIB Foundation, 1456 St. Paul Suite 101, Kelowna, BC, V1Y 2E6.
A Celebration of Life was held on September 4, 2020 at Holy Trinity Church with Father Francis dela Cruz, Celebrant. Al Grywacheski of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ was entrusted with arrangements.
You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence at the family's online register at www.myalternatives.ca

"A MOTHER'S PRAYER"
We said a Mother's Prayer for you
to thank the Lord above
for blessing us with a lifetime
of your tender hearted love.
We thanked God for the caring
you've shown us through the years,
for the closeness we've enjoyed
in time of laughter and of tears.
And so, we thank you from the heart
for all you've done over the years...
and bless the Lord for giving us
the very best Mother, Nonna and Bisnonna
there could ever be!
