August 25, 1943 - August 1, 2021
Passed away peacefully at Victoria Hospital, on August 1st, 2021 in her 78th year. She was the beloved daughter of the late William John Griffiths and Gladys Griffiths (Downey) as well as her step-mother Mary Fife.
Dear mother of George Eisner (Susan) and their children Blair and Matthew of Nelson, BC and Brent Eisner (Gerri) and their children Brandon and Hayley from South Slocan,BC.
Maureen will be missed by her brother Jerry (Helen) Griffiths of Tillsonburg and two daughters Pat and Kathy as well as her half brother Mike (Dorothy) Desharnais of Regina, Sask. She was a special member of the Clarke family and will be missed by her loyal friend Rose Clarke, Therese and John Bate, and George and Charlotte Clarke of Red Deer, Alta.
Maureen was born in Cranbrook, BC on August 25th, 1943. She graduated from high school at a young age and then decided to attend the University of Victoria where she majored in music. In her third year she studied at the University of British Columbia where she completed her studies and began her teaching career. She always believed that every child could succeed and if they did not understand the material then she would develop a new approach so that they would meet with success. Maureen was a sought after choral conductor both for school and adult choirs and band teacher in Saskatchewan and British Columbia.
Much of Mo's energy came from her deep faith. She always responded to the needs of others and the poor held a very special place in her heart. She wanted to leave this world leaving a small imprint on the world. Yes Mo, you left your imprint and you will be missed!
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Angels' Church on Thursday, August 5th at 10 am. Interment of ashes to follow in Holy Angels' Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined.
