It is with profound sadness that the family of Ken McTeer, announce his passing at the Kimberley Special Care Home on Friday, October 26, 2018.

Ken was born in Calgary, Alberta to parents Archie and Edna McTeer. Hockey ruled his early years in Calgary and he eventually played junior hockey for the Buffaloes. He was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks and attended their training camp in 1953. In 1954 he played for the Trail Smoke Eaters. In 1955 Ken moved to Kimberley to play for the Kimberley Dynamiters until retiring in 1967. He was the Center Iceman for the famed Nitro Line with Walt Peacosh, Les Lilley and later with Dick Vincent. Ken was one of the driving forces behind the East Kootenay Old Timers Hockey Club in the 1970's and 80's who won multiple National Championships. Ken was also an integral part of the Kimberley Dynamos Baseball team in the 1950's and 60's and was an avid golfer.

Ken worked in the Sullivan Mine surveying department, for the city of Kimberley as Economic Development Officer, and finally as a Sales Rep for Columbia Brewing Company, now Labatts Brewery. In retirement Ken enjoyed golf, cross country skiing, curling and times with friends at the Elks Club sharing a few beers and lots of laughs.

Ken was predeceased by his brothers Donald and Paul and his daughter-in-law Paula.

Ken will be greatly missed and leaves to mourn his sons Terry and Pat (Shannon), his long-time partner Joyce Bell as well as grandchildren Alexandra (Mike), Brenden (Liana), Catie (Hunter), Davis, Jennifer (Erich), Nathan (Sarah) and his great granddaughter Audrey.

A Celebration of Life for Ken will be held on Saturday, November 10th at 2:00 pm in the clubhouse at the Bootleg Gap Golf Course.
