On May 3, 2020, Karen Teresa Akagi passed away at home at the age of 58. Karen was born and raised in Cranbrook, BC and had a long career as an accountant in Vancouver.
Karen's natural curiosity made her a life-long student of many interests. She loved getting to know people and making new friends on her many travels around the world. She was a generous host and enjoyed sharing her love of food, especially her famous Japanese cheesecake, with family and friends.
Karen was a kind, sensitive and independent soul. She was known for her friendly smile, quiet determination and positive outlook on life.
She will be forever missed by her parents, Tye and Aiko Marion, sister Linda, brother Ty, nieces Kiana and Keeley, many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Karen's family is grateful to everyone who provided support to her. A special thank you to her cousins Sandra and Tobi who provided such loving and dedicated care in her final weeks.
