Daughter of Adie and Emily (nee McIntosh) Ott, Joy spent her childhood in Rockglen, Brocket, Pincher Creek,Galloway, Nelson and Fernie.
She moved to Chapman Camp in 1962 with then husband Jack, to raise their family, and where she lived until entering The Pines in 2011, where she was supported with compassion by the caring staff and volunteers.
Joy: Creative, unconventional, crafty, artistic, community volunteer; lover of theatre, music, yoga, and the absurd; award winning actor, great dancer, curious, chatty, observant, people person, funny, pun lover, cat lady, great cook, avid collector of all things, strong, spiritual, resilient.
Predeceased by her parents, sister Doreen Gervais, brother Jim Durkie and son Greg. Survived by her children Brad (Carole Ann) in Calgary and Stacey (Dave) in Vancouver,
and her nieces Lexie Bray, Gael Whelan, Christine Rogers and their families.
There will be no memorial service.
