September 4, 1930 - June 20, 2020
Forever a learner, a creative perfectionist, gourmet cook and faithful friend.
Joe Fiorentino passed to his heavenly home peacefully, from his Fullerton, California home on June 20, 2020. Attentively by his side were close friends and his remarkable caregivers Ferdie and Johnny.
Joe was born September 4, 1930 in Cranbrook, British Columbia to Joseph and Augustine (Benedetti) Fiorentino. He will be missed by his one and only sister, Mary Fiorentino, now residing in Cranbrook.
From an early age, Joe was an eager and gifted student. After completing his early education in Cranbrook, he studied science and physics at University of British Columbia and later in UCLA. After his university studies, he joined Canadair, a division of General Dynamics, and as the post WWII need for technical specialists grew in the U.S., he transferred to General Dynamics Pomona Division where he quickly established himself as the staff specialist in control systems.
His 35-year career also included teaching and consulting roles. After their mother came to live in California, Joe and Mary shared in the quality dialysis care of their mother in the 10 years of her life.
Joe's spirits were raised through his final struggle by his daily calls from Mary.
Many thanks to Joe's friends, caregivers, physicians, and all of whom supported him through this period of his life. He will be raising a toast of gratitude you with a glass of fine heavenly wine.
Joe's Funeral Mass will be at St. Juliana's on Thursday, July 10, at 10 am.
Attendees should be at the church at 9:30 and masks are mandatory. Later Joe will be buried in the family plot in Cranbrook.
