April 3, 1933 – June 12, 2021
With sadness we announce the passing of John Walmsley, on June 12, 2021, at the age of 88.
John was born in Boundary Falls, B.C., in 1933. He was a man of faith, who loved his wife and family immensely. John enjoyed watching hockey, playing card games, trains, horses, and yard work. He retired after a long career with CP Rail. Even though he was a quiet, gentle, kind soul, he has left us with beautiful memories, so many lessons to carry on and pass down to generations to come. He will be a missed part of our lives and will be loved forever.
John is survived by his sons John R Walmsley, Warren S Walmsley, T Neal Walmsley, daughters Beverley A Dowd and Lori J Dombi.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife Eleanor J Walmsley.
A Celebration of Life was held at the Dwelling Place on Saturday, June 19th, 2021, at 1 pm, with interment at Westlawn Cemetery, Cranbrook, B.C., on June 22nd at 11 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations in John’s honour may be made to the Dwelling Place Memorial Fund 2324 2nd St S, Cranbrook, B.C. V1C 1E1.
Arrangements entrusted to McPherson Funeral Services.
