It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our much loved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, John Russell McCracken on Friday, March 1, 2019 in Cranbrook, BC at the age of 70.

John was born in Eston, Saskatchewan on August 31, 1948 to Russ and Kay McCracken. He was the oldest son of their three children. John attended trade school in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to become a heavy duty mechanic. He moved to BC to work at the mines in Sparwood a few years after graduation.

In 1973 he was employed with Cullen Diesel Power and was employed with them till his passing. John was a loyal and dedicated employee. He loved sports especially golf, hockey, and baseball. John coached the Cranbrook Colts for two seasons from 1979-1981 with Ken Tarnow.

John and Donna were married on September 27, 1975. They raised their two sons Russell and Kevin in Cranbrook.

He is survived by his wife Donna, son Russ (Cheryl) and grandchildren Kayce, Tynan and Miley; and son Kevin and granddaughters Ariel and Ciara; brothers Daryl and Reg (Dora); and our dear friends Ken and Brenda Tarnow, and Cy and Laurel Jolie.

John's Celebration of Life will be held at the Cranbrook United Church on Monday, March 18, 2019 at 11 am, with a reception to follow in the social hall.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in John's memory to the Prostate Cancer Foundation of BC, #4, 17918 - 55th Avenue, Surrey, BC, V3S 6C8.
