John Albert Cross
April 30, 1940 – October 10, 2015
John Albert Cross was born in Eagle River, Ontario and moved to B.C as a child with his family.
He worked for C.P. Rail for 41 years as a carman. He started in Vancouver as an apprentice, then worked in Nelson for 26 years, followed by another 13 years in Cranbrook. He enjoyed his job, especially that of crane operator at derailments. He served as local chairman of his union for many years.
He enjoyed fishing and a wide variety of other outdoor activities. He was also a skilled ironworker and woodworker and crafted many decorative and useful things.
Left to cherish his memory is his best friend and wife of 53 years, Judy; children, Carolyn, Andrew, John (Katy), and Jennifer (Kevin) Miller; grandsons Austin, Spencer and Cale and sister, Joan (Donald) Halvorson.
At John’s request, there will be no funeral.
