It is with great sadness that the children of Jeannie Roberta Bruce Pounder announces her passing on January 24, 2017 at the Ivy House in Invermere at the age of 73 years.
Jeannie was born in the native village Pinchi in northern British Columbia and moved to Cranbrook when she was a young girl. She remained there until she married in 1963 and moved to Canal Flats. She loved her family and friends, painting & writing poetry.
She is survived by her daughter Tricia (Jeff) MacDonald; granddaughters Jacqueline (Stephen) Schuler, great grandchildren, Saxon & Sophie; Jenna (Joey) Ray, great-grandsons Joelan & Jagger. Her oldest son Marty (Tamara) grandchildren Lindsey, Mike (Kirsten) McDonald; great-grandchildren Teddy & Clara, Alannah (Jared) Howe; great-grandchildren Kobyn, Marshall & Maxwell. She is also survived by her youngest son Mark and many other family members and friends.
Jeannie was predeceased by her only brother Roderick (2008), her father James Clarence Bruce (1982) and mother Bernice (1959).
There will be a Celebration of Jeannie’s life held at the Canal Flats Civic Centre this Saturday, February 4th at 2pm. In lieu of flowers a donation in her honour can be made to the BC Mental Health Foundation (bcmhf.ca).
