July 20, 1961 - October 17, 2018
James Donald Robertson, age 57 years, died peacefully with loved ones at his side on October 17th, 2018 in the palliative care unit at Ottawa General Hospital after a valiant battle with cancer. Survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Linda (Bloedow); brother-in-law, Carl; sister-in-law, Darlene (Mark); mother, Verna; sisters Sandra, Laurie (John); brother, Bill,(Lori) and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins in Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia. Predeceased by his father James Donald (2010); and parents-in-law, Bert (2009) and Nora (2018) Bloedow.
Jim was born July 20, 1961 in Nanaimo, BC and grew up in Ladysmith and North Vancouver. He met the love of his life in Cranbrook, BC in 1985. Jim and Linda spent their life together in both British Columbia and on Linda's family farm outside of Killaloe, Ontario. Although Jim worked as a carpenter / contractor for many years, he spent the latter part of his life creating beautiful colorful art and his paintings hang on walls from Ontario to the West Coast.
As per Jim's wishes there was no wake or funeral and his remains cremated. A celebration of Jim's life was held at their home in Ontario on October 28th, 2018. As an expression of sympathy donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Research facility of your choice.
Jim will be forever loved and missed by his wife and family. Rest in peace, good and gentle soul.
