July 5, 1989 - December 27, 2024

In loving memory ~

Lovingly known as "Peanut", "Jake" and "Houstan", Jacob Houstan Dilts was born in Cranbrook, BC, on July 5, 1989, the youngest and final addition to his family. Our hearts are shattered as we mourn his sudden and tragic passing on December 27, 2024.

Jacob was the beloved little brother to Amber and Brady and the bonus not-so-little brother to his step-siblings, Devin and Hailey. He was also a devoted son, grandson, nephew, uncle, cousin, and friend, known for his gift of a good story and his ability to fill any room with laughter. His soft heart and sharp sense of humor made him the light of our lives, while his fiercely stubborn determination fueled his strength and, at times, filled us with great anguish.

Jacob's greatest passions were hunting, fishing, exploring nature, building things, fixing his vehicles and maintaining his physical strength and fitness—second only to his unwavering love for his family and friends.

Known for his exemplary work ethic, Jacob thrived in various roles throughout his career, especially during his time at Wilkinson Steel and Metals and Teck Mines.

A memorial service to celebrate Jacob's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Cranbrook First Baptist Church with a reception to follow.

A graveside service will be held at a later date at Baynes Lake Cemetery.
