Iris Lorraine Donovan (nee Parton)

Iris Lorraine Donovan (nee Parton) was born in New Westminster, BC on June 28, 1925. She was brought up in what now is Maple Ridge, BC. She served in Ottawa with the CWAC during WWII, then went on to be educated at Vancouver Normal School and UBC.
Lorraine taught elementary school in Vancouver, BC with teaching exchange years in Penzance, Cornwall, England and Soest, Germany; as well as 17 years in Fort Nelson, BC where she was active in the music scene. Since retiring, she enjoyed the many activities available in Cranbrook; mainly golfing, the Festival of the Performing Arts, quilting, the hospital auxiliary and the Go Go Grannies.
She leaves her loving family; her husband of 61 years, Denis; son Michael (Peggy), daughter Fiona, grandsons Brad (Alyssa) and Stephen, grand- daughter Joanne, and five great-grandchildren (Jael, Anna, Emily, Liam and Walter).
At her request there will be a Celebration of Life at the Green Room in Joseph Creek Village, 2:30 pm on Saturday, October 26th. All friends are invited to attend.
