1930 - 2017

Inge Nimmert passed away peacefully in her sleep at Joseph

Creek Care Village on Monday, July 17th, 2017 at the age

of 87.

Inge was born in Zeinicke, Germany on February 6, 1930,

to Walter and Hildegard Kruschke. She emigrated to

Canada with her family in 1951. On November 21, 1951,

she married Alfred Heinz Nimmert in Medicine Hat,

Alberta. After many years of farming, they finally settled in

Cranbrook in 1965 with their family of five children.

Inge lived her life with great love for her faith, her husband

and her family. She was a gift ed homemaker, writer, and

gardener. With her gift s of hospitality and organizational

skills, she created a wonderful home for her family. She

welcomed many friends into their lives and showed them

the kindness and caring she was known for.

Inge will be sadly missed by her children; Gisela Ecklund,

Karl-Juergen Nimmert (Katharine), Edith Epp (Werner)

and son-in-law Doug Schulties. Her 12 grandchildren and

16 great-grandchildren will also miss her.

Inge is predeceased by her loving husband of 65 years

Alfred Nimmert, her daughter Heidi Oostenbrink, son-in

law John Oostenbrink and daughter Carola Schulties.

Mom, thank you for all the prayers throughout the years.

Special thanks to Joseph Creek Care Village for their

exceptional care in the last years of her life.

A memorial service will be held at Knox Presbyterian

Church in Cranbrook on Saturday, July 29th, 2017, at 2:00

pm with a luncheon to follow.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Inge’s honour,

to Dutch Harbour Christian Camp, c/o Knox Presbyterian

Church, 2100 – 3rd Street South, Cranbrook, BC, V1C 1G2.
