Herbert Gordon Nyquist, 69, passed away on December 2, 2021 in Cranbrook, B.C. Born on March 8 in Coleman, Alberta, Herb was an excellent addition to British Columbia.
Growing up, Herb developed a love of swimming and the outdoors. He was a lifelong hunter and greatly enjoyed sharing his knowledge of the back roads. Herb was a talented woodworker and his skills included joinery, framing, cabinetry, and pretty much all other areas of woodworking.
His life led him from Cranbrook to Lethbridge, then to Vancouver Island, and then back to Kootenays in Fort Steele. There he greatly enjoyed living out of city limits and helping on the farm.
While not working, Herb enjoyed fishing, golf, and pool. He particularly loved the pool league in Cranbrook where he enjoyed helping new players learn the game. Herb doted upon his three children and, when they arrived, his two grandchildren.
He is survived by Brock, Michelle, and Ellie Nyquist; Greg, Tiffany, and Evelyn Nyquist; and Ariel Nyquist and Russell Heitzmann.
