In the late evening hours of Tuesday, February 3, 2015, Ethel Jeannette Cope passed away at the Kimberley Special Care Home at the age of 84 years. She was born on May 17, 1930 in Fernie, BC to Gustav and Emma Nord.
Our mother was a devout Christian lady with an incredible faith in God. Her family was first and foremost to her. Ethel’s outlook on life was always positive and she had such a happy disposition. She was a wonderful mother to us, a gentle and kind soul and she will be missed deeply by all of us.
Left to cherish her memory are her children; Dorothy Tournier, Art (Debbie) Cope, Barb (David) Blackwell, Ron (Pat) Cope and Cheryl Cope. She also leaves her grandchildren; Chris (Tracey) Pretula, Deb (Dave) Stefanek, Michael (Olivia) Cope, Chelsie (Isaac) Tierney, Justin Tournier, Steven Cope, Kylie (Troy) Newton and Stuart (Crystal) Cope as well as her great grandchildren; Levi, Lucy, Paige, Azalea, Katlyn, Thor, Calvin and Olivia. Ethel leaves behind one brother Ken Nord of Victoria, BC.
A Funeral Service for Ethel will be held on Friday, February 6, 2015 at the Kimberley Fellowship Baptist Church at 1:00 pm with Pastor Drew Westergaard officiating. Interment will follow in the Kimberley Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Ethel’s memory to the Baptist Church Missions, 395 Marsden St., Kimberley, BC V1A 1H3.
