November 15, 2018
It is with great sorrow that our family announces Ed's passing on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at the age of 89 at East Kootenay Regional Hospital in Cranbrook.

Ed was born in Saskatchewan. He moved to Hamiota, Manitoba as a teenager and lived with his Uncle John and Aunt Marj Ward. Later he moved to Ontario to work in an underground mine and when he returned to Hamiota Ed met Jean and they were married in 1953. He worked as a heavy duty mechanic with Powell Equipment which took the family to Brandon and then went to work with Finning which eventually took him to BC working in various locations for 27 years until he retired in Sparwood in 1990.

An avid golfer, accomplished handyman and enthusiastic dancer, Ed enjoyed life to its fullest and had no regrets. He was an amazing father; a loving and devoted husband and he cherished his friendships. Yes, there is golf in heaven so play on through Ed.

Ed is survived by his wife Jean and daughters Margaret (Earl) and Dorothy (Kim). He was predeceased by granddaughter Heather, parents, seven brothers and six sisters.

At Ed's request there will be no service. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Arrangements entrusted to McPherson Funeral Service. Condolences for the family can be offered at: www.mcphersonfh.com.
